English teacher hates me already ;)
Thats right. Second day and she already tried convincing me out of her class.
So some background info:
Alright so the story is
Mme. English teacher is teaching how to use some phrases/words such as "besides"
Now we get to a question, Meryl just by chance it was her turn to her answer so does. The whole exercise was to put in the word "besides" probably into the sentence and Meryl answers correctly. The answer was something like: Besides having ... But Mme "Your pants burn my eyes" says the answer is Besides TO having ...
WTF? Now I know my grammar is probably crap and i would LAUGH MY ASS OFF if you (sivan) reads this and tells me that she was correct too but i really couldn't care less. Now you could just imagine the scene Meryl and I made xD There was even an example, with THE EXACT same situation and what not but nooooooo.
Funny Fact: she said the word commer. I'm thinking whats commer? Meryl heard the same thing to, so I wasn't completely crazy. Is that a word that I've never learnt/heard of/used? Oh no, not even close. Commer is COMMA LOOOOOOOL
Heres another one for you: fessfally --> FATHFULLY
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Yea I'm a bitch, so what? Gotta problem bahaha you love me :)
SO point of the story is, at the end of class while people are packing up she comes to me (ps. Meryl is sitting beside me)
Common, like you guys didn't see that one coming right?
Anyways thats about it for that day.

So some background info:
- Her names Mme Hurts/Herts (dunno) either way it HURTS looking at her giraffe printed pants. Now you may think kinda like leopard print, oh no. Full giraffes, on her pants. Thats right, those pants you wore when you were .... 5? (Pretty sure had I something of the sort)
- She spent half her life in South Africa but really, shes French. So she has this South African accent and all her students pick that up from her.
- Shes got an annoying voice
- Completely oblivious to her surroundings

- Mme. "I can't stand Lisa" says: Don't you think you should be doing exams, you will be here for such a long time. Six months you'll miss out on a lot of you don't o exams. You should take more French classes as well, it will do you good.
- Lisa says: What exams? I'm only here for 3 months, and there was another girl from Australia that stayed for 6 months and she stayed in YOUR English class. I don't see the problem.
- Mme says: No no, we had a girl named ________ who came for 3 months.
- Rest of Class says: NO. She came for 6 months.
- Mme: Oh well then, maybe some french exams will do you some good. This English class isn't any good for you
- Lisa: Well of the nine courses i have a day in French, I suppose an hour a day in English is alright. On the contrary (yes i said on the contrary) I think it might just keep me a little sane these next 3 months. Whats that, another 76 days?
Common, like you guys didn't see that one coming right?
Anyways thats about it for that day.

That is quite hilarious!
So, first - no, you don't say - besides TO. perhaps she's mixing it with "other THAN" or "besides WHICH"
in either case, 'besides' is usually misused and overused to the point that it is colloquial. I would recommend you don't use it at all, rather find another way to express what you mean.
and "commer" is the south african accent. has she said rubbish to mean garbage bin yet? i had a south african english teacher for grade 4 and she always told people to throw their gum in the rubbish. as fourth graders, we thought it was hilarious.
Perhaps as an easy course, instead of taking English and making the poor woman suffer, you might try taking art or drama or some other fun subject?

using the word to mean garbage is the same way we mean it, but south africans use the word rubbish to mean the actual garbage can, not the garbage itself.
I noticed that you're making changes to the blog - that's great. This was my first attempt at html and CSS and i have to say its not that bad, but there are things that i dont know how to do, perhaps you will know and will do them yourself (e.g. photo album? so that your whole experience is in one source)
On another note, have you been to anything that warrants collecting things for your scrap book? museum/movie ticket stubs? special chocolate bar wrapping?

not sure about you, but i never even looked at computer language before, its not fun finding the code for extra bright yellow, light yellow, and figuring out how to move margins.
it may be easy shmeezy for you ms. genius, but this was a labour of love for me
